Anti-allergic effect of Histablock tablets

Histablock tablets at various concentrations was studied to find out its efficacy in reducing histamine induced oedema, erythema and itching on skin.

Study findings

  • The erythema (wheal and flare reaction) as well as the itching response were completely absent at the test sites where Histablock tablets concentration was 0.7% and more.

The study findings confirm the efficacy of Histablock tablets as an anti-allergic drug.

Histablock tablets- a Promising Alternative for Management of Allergic Disorders.

  • Histamine and Cytokines like Interleukin (IL) 1α & IL 8 play a key role in inflammatory allergic disorders.
  • On sensitization, mast cells and basophils release Histamine and keratinocytes release IL 1α and IL 8.
  • Therefore, dose-dependent effect of Histablock tablets on histamine, IL α and IL8 release was tested

Study findings

  • The release of histamine from the cultured mast cells lowered with increase in concentration of Histablock.
  • The release of IL1α was highly suppressed by Histablock tablets at 100 µg concentration.
  • Histablock tablets effectively suppressed the release of IL8 by the keratinocytes when irradiated by UV or induced by PMA.

From the above findings, it can be concluded that Histablock tablets be effective in management of allergic reactions in skin.

Mast cell degranulation effect of Histablock tablets

Effect of oral Histablock tablets on mast cells inhibiting its degranulation and release of histamine and proteases (allergy-related complications) was studied in both in vitro and in vivo conditions.

Study findings

  • Histablock significantly blocked the mast cell degranulation both in vivo and in vitro tests.

From the above finding, it can be concluded that Histablock tablets is very effective in the management of allergy-related complications.
